Examinations

One of the key requirements of traveling in the capacity of a Certified Officer/Engineer is to get a certificate/license to sail onboard a merchant ship. This certificate is known as the Certificate Of Competence or COC in short. It can only be issued by the maritime government of any country, white listed by International Maritime Organization (IMO). However preference wise, the COC of U.K., Australia, Singapore, New Zealand and India get the highest value in the maritime world.

Ships’ officers after completing the minimum onboard training are required to go for the COC examination to become a Certified Officer\Engineer required by Shipping Companies.

Certificate of Competency (Deck Officer) Class 2
Certificate of Competency (Deck Officer) Class 3
