Admission Procedure
1. The admission for the programs is offered twice a year, i.e. in month and month. BIMS invites applications from prospective students through advertisements in national and regional dailies detailing the relevant information. Candidates desiring to join the course will have to apply to BIMS on the prescribed from, when the advertisement appears in the newspapers.The application form is given along with the prospectus. It can also be downloaded from online. The completed application form should reach the us on or before the specified date in the advertisement, through registered post/courier/personally.
The candidate should submit the application form along with the following documents:- Attested copy of proof of Date of Birth
- Attested copy of School leaving certificate
- Attested copy of final examination mark sheet
- Eight recent passport size colored photographs wearing white shirt and colored tie
- Copy of passport (attested). If passport is not available, arrangement should be made to obtain the same prior completion of training
- Medical Fitness Certificate
2. After collection and scrutinizing the application, BIMS Selection Board will prepare a list of short listed candidates and inform them.
3. The candidates will have to undergo written or oral test or both, they will be tested on the basis of their attitude and aptitude towards seafarers profession, ability to communicate in English, general comprehension and seafaring background, if any.
4. The candidates who qualify in the final test will be subjected to a physical fitness/medical/eyesight examination as per MS rules 2000.
5. Candidates meeting the eligibilty criteria in all respects are required to produce original certificates for verification at the time of counseling and submit them to the Institute at the time of joining the course.
6. The selected candidates should take admission by paying the course fees failing which, the seat will be offered to candidates on the waiting list.
7. Various employing shipping companies or their manning agents may also sponsor candidates of their choice for our programs.
- Bharath Institute of Marine Services reserves the right to select or reject any candidate without assigning any reasons to the candidate.
- No registration fee will be refunded.
- After admission the Institute will retain the candidate’s original certificates and they will be handed only after the completion of the course.
- A candidate found guilty of producing false certificates/documents shall be dismissed and no fees would be refunded. Likewise, if a candidate is found to violate the Code of Conduct of the Institute, he is likely to be debarred
- We are not liable for any kind of personal injuries/accidents/diseases/death suffered by the trainee during the training period or the expenses incurred thereafter. No refund of fees would be done if such a case arises.
- All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Hyderabad (A.P) only.
